Whatever the reason, we invite you to consider us as your university of choice. We welcome you to the perfect place to live and learn.

International
student services
UVic has a strong commitment to its international student community-we have a wide variety of services to make our international students' experience as positive as possible.
International students are encouraged to contact the International and Exchange Student Services Office, which strives to make each student's stay at UVic as rewarding as possible. They provide pre-arrival support, orientation on arrival and ongoing assistance after international students have arrived for their studies at UVic.
If you are looking to improve your English language skills, we strongly encourage you to visit the English Language Centre. The English Language Centre (ELC) also offers the Homestay program, where international students are placed with host families. Homestay is available for all of the ELC's 12-week programs, and monthly English programs from September to May.
Once you're on campus, visit the International and Exchange Student Services Office to connect with a Buddy (a returning UVic student) who will show you around the campus and Victoria, or to meet with an international student advisor. Advisors can answer your questions about things like health insurance and Canadian immigration regulations, and can provide advice on academic resources available to you.
There are many opportunities to connect with other students on campus. Student clubs like the Association of International and Canadian Students (AICS) and the International Friendship Group hold events year-round and all students are welcome to participate.
