Housing
Neighbours become your family
Living on a university campus is an experience unlike any other you'll have in your lifetime. More than 2,300 on-campus students create a close-knit community within UVic's larger university setting. Chances are we can help with whatever you're looking for to make your living arrangements complete.
Places to live
No matter what your needs, campus housing has the right accommodation for you. Choose a single or shared room in one of our 21 residence buildings or share a 4-bedroom apartment with 3 other students in one of the 123 cluster units. Students with children will want to choose one of our 181 unfurnished apartments or townhouses in family housing. They're all within walking distance of the campus, child care and schools.
Take a Virtual Tour
Take advantage of our interactive presentation on Life at UVic, and learn what academic life, campus life, and life around town are like here.

Accessible
housing
We recognize that some people have specific needs that require modified living spaces perhaps due to limited mobility, hearing or vision. Residence, cluster and family housing on campus all have bedrooms, bathrooms and, if required, kitchens to accommodate the needs of any student.
Res and
family life
Res life
Res life is what university is perhaps most famous for. What makes campus living so interesting and meaningful is being entrenched in the total UVic experience. Nothing matches the opportunities for friendship, fun, convenience or involvement. Plus, your campus neighbours become a built-in peer support system. They become your family.
Our team of trained Residence Life staff will guide you through the transition of living in a new community and coordinate special programs to help you learn more about yourself and connect with others.
What can you expect to do when living in residence? Go whale watching; learn how to kayak or play guitar; attend a financial planning, sustainability or exam anxiety workshop; show off your talents in a coffee house concert; take a yoga or cooking class; play residence dodgeball or simply dance the night away!
The environment at UVic is one in which we hope you can feel safe and welcome. It's a place where we work hard (with your help) to ensure you can sleep well and study efficiently. And it's where you'll create some of the most valuable relationships and memories of your life.
Family life
Students with families have different needs than most students. That's why the UVic Family Centre was created. Conveniently located in the Lam Family Housing complex, it offers various resources and creates programs to assist students and their families adjust to the demands of balancing school work and an enriched family life.
