Passion inspires

Lara Lauzon
When students “experience” a lifestyle change process in our human wellness and potential class, they begin to embrace the concept of choice and self-responsibility for self-care. Then through community legacy projects they discover that one person or a small group of people can make a difference.

Dedicated and passionate about active living, Dr. Lara Lauzon demonstrates a belief that healthy individuals help to make a healthy community. She’s spent most of her career in recreation and fitness, and her passion for human wellness and potential shines through.

One student raves, “This class gave me the opportunity to learn more about health and wellness and hopefully enable me to grow as a person and get closer to my human potential. Lara, thank you, you helped me to change my life.”

Another says, “Where do I start? This was the best class, especially in terms of what I will take away from it. I learnt so much about myself that will greatly help me in the future. … Lara was always so energetic and excited for the course and her attitude really rubbed off on her students.”

UVic faculty like Lara Lauzon are passionate about the topics they teach and the research they undertake. Take our virtual tour to learn more about classroom experiences at UVic.
