University Health Services provides confidential team-based care and take your privacy very seriously, when we discuss patient information. The University of Victoria collects personal information pursuant to the"University Act, RSBC 1996, c468" and section 26 of the "Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act."  Medical records are confidential and are not released to anyone without your written consent, except in serious conditions required by law - in reporting children at risk, in concerns of personal safety or risk to life, and in matters of public health safety. 

We encourage you to involve your family or partner in your health care. Where desired, UHS will work with you and your loved ones to support your care.
