University Food Services 2013–14 food cards    

Option 1 RESCard

Option 1 RES-CardResidence Student Meal Plan

All students living in dormitory residence are placed on a Standard meal plan, but can transfer to a Full or Light plan by visiting our main office no later than September 20 or January 20 of each term.

Standard Meal Plan - $2022.50 per semester: Our most popular plan, designed for students who are on-campus on alternate weekends and those with average appetites.

Full Meal Plan - $2150.00 per semester: Appropriate for students on-campus most weekends and those with larger appetites.

Light Meal Plan - $1892.50 per semester: Suitable for students occasionally on-campus on weekends and those with lighter appetites.

50% of the above fees goes to service delivery costs; 50% goes onto your RESCard to use for purchasing food. A 50% discount is applied at the time of purchase in VGs, Caps and the Upper Commons.

The cost of the Residence Student Meal Plan is included in your Residence Fees; for payment information please visit Residence Services website.

Additional Residence dollars can be added to any Residence Meal Plan at any of our dining locations (in $25, $50 or $100 increments), in any dollar amount at our main office or via our secure online payment service, Beanstream.  Any amount added after September 20 is allocated entirely to the Residence Dollars portion of the Meal Plan and is eligible for the Carryover Plan as described below.

Carryover Plan

The Residence Meal plan is non-refundable.  At the end of the second term in April, any Residence Meal Dollars added to any of the three Plans after September 20th, may be transferred into the Carryover Plan, upon request at our main office. This transfer is subject to a $50.00 admin fee, which will be automatically deducted from the total plan balance at the time of transfer.

This Carryover Plan allows you to continue spending your remaining money when you return to school, whether you live on or off campus. The Plan is accepted at all our food outlets. You will receive a 5% discount and all applicable sales taxes will apply. This plan is non-refundable, money cannot be added to it.

RESCARD Terms and Conditions: 

• Your UVic Food Services RESCard must be presented at the time of purchase and may only be used for making purchases at participating UVic Food Services locations. Receipt will show your remaining balance.

• RESCards cannot be redeemed for cash or applied as payment to any other UVic Food Services account. Please treat this card like cash. The value on the RESCard will not be replaced if the card is lost, stolen or destroyed. 

• Please report your lost, stolen or destroyed card to any cashier located at any UVic Food Services location. All purchases made without the RESCard are subject to Retail pricing. Replacement cards are available at University Food Services Main Office for a $25.00 fee.

• You may reload or check your RESCard balance at any participating UVic Food Services location or at the UVic Food Services Main Office. You may also check your RESCard balance by calling 250-472-4777. Please have your RESCard number available.

Use of the UVic Food Services RESCard constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions. 

Option 2 DD5Card

Option 2 DD5-CardFaculty / Staff / Student / Visitor Card

The DD5Card offers faculty, staff, students and guests on campus a 5% discount on all purchases at University Food Services outlets. Purchases made at the Village Market Convenience Store are not eligible for a discount.

Minimum level to join the plan is $50. Minimum level to add to an existing plan is $25.*

*Refunds are subject to $25 admin charge.

This plan can be initiated online, at our main office or at any UFS food outlet.

DD5CARD Terms and Conditions:

• Your UVic Food Services DD5Card must be presented at the time of purchase and may only be used for making purchases at participating UVic Food Services locations. Receipt will show your remaining balance.

• Please report your lost, stolen or destroyed card to any cashier located at any UVic Food Services location using your DD5Card number. Replacement cards are available at University Food Services Main Office for a $25.00 fee with your DD5Card number and one piece of photo identification.

• DD5Cards cannot be redeemed for cash or applied as payment to any other UVic Food Services account. Please treat this card like cash and record your card number in a secure location. The value on the DD5Card will not be replaced if the card is lost, stolen or destroyed.

• You may reload or check your DD5Card balance at any participating UVic Food Services location or at the UVic Food Services Main Office. You may also check your DD5Card balance by calling 250-472-4777. Please have your DD5Card number available. 

Use of the UVic Food Services DD5Card constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Option 3 TES5Card

Option 3 TES4-CardStudents – Off-campus or in Cluster/Family/ Apartment Residence Card

This Plan offers 10% savings! It is tax-exempt under the following conditions:

  • Purchase is for one term, or a full term max.
  • Based on a minimum of 10 meals per week, meals at average price.
  • Participants must be students living off campus or in non-dormitory residence.
  • Purchases receive a 5% discount at all UFS locations.
  • Purchases made at the Village Market Convenience Store are not eligible for a discount and are subject to regular taxation.

When your plan expires, any remaining balance may be transferred into the Carryover Plan, upon request at our main office. This transfer is subject to a $50 admin fee, which will be automatically deducted from the total plan balance at the time of transfer.

This Carryover Plan allows you to continue spending your remaining money when you return to school, whether you live on or off campus. The Carryover Plan is accepted at all on-campus UFS locations. You will receive a 5% discount and all applicable sales taxes will apply. This plan is non-refundable and cannot have money added to it.

Option 4 DCCard

Option 4 DC-CardDepartmental Charge Card

The DCCard is designed for staff and faculty to use for department meetings, university guests, and catering services. It works like a credit card and can be used at all UFS locations. Features include:

  • All charges are tax exempt.
  • Multiple cards can be set up on one account for different department users.
  • Regular pricing – no discount is applied.

This plan can be initiated by downloading our online application form. The completed form and DCCard Authorization Form are to be mailed or faxed to our office to initiate the plan. Charges are posted to authorized account holder's FAST account at the end of each month.

• Please treat this card like cash and record your card number in a secure location. Charges placed on the DCCard are the responsibility of the cardholder and will not be reversed if the card is lost, stolen or destroyed.

• Please report your lost, stolen or destroyed card to any cashier located at any UVic Food Services location. Replacement cards are available at University Food Services Main Office for a $25.00 fee.
