Math Competitions

These competitions are open to all undergraduate students at UVic, including first year students. In the past some prizes were won by first year students.

UVic mathematics competition

The UVic Mathematics Competition is held annually in September. The 15th competition will be held  September 2013. There are monetary prizes. To participate, just show up. To get an idea of what questions may appear in the competition see these old exams.

Putnam mathematics competition

The Putnam Mathematics Competition is held annually on the first Saturday in December. This year it will take place Saturday, December 1, 2012 (8:00 - 11:00 am and 1:00 - 4:00 pm) in HHB 110.  For registration and more information visit Dr. Sourour's Putnam Competition website.
