Research Description

My expertise is in immunology, molecular parasitology, molecular entomology and protein chemistry.
Research is focused on African trypanosomes, the parasites that cause sleeping sickness, and their tsetse fly vectors.

Interdisciplinary Research

The research projects involve multidisciplinary collaborations in molecular biology, proteomics, entomology, genetics and veterinary and human medicine.

Health Related Research

All of our tropical diseases research involves human and animal health and is focused on diagnostics and vaccine development.

International Research

I have collaborative projects on developing vaccines for several tropical diseases. Collaborating laboratories are in Kenya, Uganda, England, U.S.A., Austria and Switzerland.
