Research Information

Research Description

I conduct research in the areas of agricultural economics, forest economics, natural resource economics and non-market valuation.

Interdisciplinary Research

Since I have a Chair in Environmental Studies and Climate, I conduct interdisciplinary research related to climate and ecology, and to the penetration of renewable sources of energy into the economy -- the hydrogen economy. Much forest and agricultural economics research is interdisciplinary in nature.

Research Keywords

Community Interaction

Community Collaborations

I conduct research into the non-market or amenity benefits that people might get participating in non-team sports such as wrestling, judo, track events, etc. Participation costs time and money, tangible rewards (e.g., travelling, satisfaction of winning/placing) may be few, if any, and there is a risk of injury that could affect one's career choices. What are the economic benefits that make these costs worthwhile?

International Involvement

General International Activities

I am involved in research related to the economics of European integration, particularly as it pertains to the agricultural sector and the environment.
