2011 NSERC Strategic Project Grants

Posted: 18 February 2011 12:48 pm

UVic Internal Deadline: April 1, 2011

We would like to raise your awareness on a key element in the NSERC Strategic Project Grants (SPG) program-Supporting Organizations.  Many proposal were rejected because they do not fulfill the Partnership requirements.

Appropriateness of Supporting Organizations:
In line with NSERC's Partnerships Programs objectives,  Supporting Organizations must meet the following criteria:

• Must have Canadian R&D or manufacturing operations. Must be willing and able to exploit research results through commercialization or technology transfer.
• MUST be actively involved in ALL stages of the project, through knowledge sharing and in-kind contributions.
• Government organizations as partners must be able to apply research results to strengthen public policy
• The letter of support should clearly demonstrate the above relevant points.

If you need further clarification on Partnership requirements or other questions regarding the SPG programs,  please be sure to attend the NSERC information session on Feb. 23, 11:00am-1:00pm, in room 120, Administrative Services Building, UVIC. If you have not already done so, please RSVP to Dailene O’Neill (resprog3@uvic.ca). (Click here to download handout from meeting).
