Every year, the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation recognizes fellows who have set themselves apart through their research achievements, their creativity, and their social commitment to one or more of the Foundation’s four themes. The fellows are selected in light of their leadership, their productivity, their reputation, and their ability to communicate. By joining the Trudeau Foundation, Trudeau fellows join a growing community of researchers and creators involved in an impressive array of fields. They have access to a variety of events organized by the Foundation to disseminate the results of their work and share ideas with top experts in the country and around the world. At a glance:

Up to five new Fellows are announced each year in the fall.
The overall value of the fellowship is $225,000 per fellow, paid over three years.
Trudeau fellows are appointed for life.
The Foundation has awarded 50 fellowships since 2003.
Nominations are submitted by 300 eminent nominators, including the rectors of Canada's universities.
About 100 nominations are considered in the selection process every year.
The Fellowship Program invested $8 million in its fellows between 2003 and 2012.
