Our students feel safe on campus. UVic received an A+ on students' overall satisfaction with sense of personal safety and security in the 2009 Globe and Mail's Canadian University Report.

Campus Security Services

Campus Security maintains a 24-hour, 7 days a week hotline for emergencies and the Safe Walk program. The emergency and Safe Walk number is 250-721-7599, and there are 12 direct dial phones throughout the campus for immediate assistance. Make sure your son or daughter signs up to receive Emergency Alerts in case of a campus-wide emergency.

Personal Safety Coordinators

UVic's Personal Safety Coordinators are liaisons between Campus Security and the University community. They provide safety workshops, address individual security concerns, and assist with mediation of individual complaints.
