Dr. Morgan Price promoted to Associate Professor, becomes interim co-Head of Department of Family Practice

This spring, Dr. Morgan Price was promoted to Associate Professor (with tenure) with UBC’s Department of Family Practice.

“I was thrilled to get an actual letter from Dr. Santa Ono approving my tenure,” said Dr. Price. “And I am looking forward to this next stage in my career at UBC. I am also very pleased that UBC sees the value in having regional voices from the Island Medical Program in the Faculty of Medicine leadership group."

Dr. Price is currently a member of UBC’s Island Medical Program (IMP), is an affiliate with UVic’s Division of Medical Sciences (DMSC), and is an Adjunct Professor in both Computer Science and Health Information Science at UVic.

In June, Dr. Price also became one of the interim co-Heads of UBC’s Department of Family Practice. He will hold the position, which he shares with Drs. Christie Newton and Louise Naismith, until July 2018. As co-Head, he will help run the department as well as support its research projects.

Right now, the Department of Family Practice consists of over 3000 faculty and staff across BC, all of whom are committed to improving provincial healthcare.
