Global partners
The International Office represents the university internationally. Their team facilitates and oversees UVic's international activities and programs by:
- Liaising with external agencies—provincially, nationally and internationally—to link the university effectively with international developments. Where appropriate, they directly initiate or participate in international initiatives.
- Supporting faculties, departments and schools in building effective partnerships with institutions abroad. Their office staff help with the negotiation process and draft formal agreements with post-secondary institutions outside Canada.
- Monitoring the effectiveness of existing agreements. These can focus on student, staff and faculty exchanges, cooperation in developing curricula and distributed learning approaches, and research and development collaborations.
