Protecting your personal information

UVic encourages those affected by this privacy breach to take steps to mitigate any risk to their personal information. The university recommends notifying your bank and placing fraud alert flags on your credit bureau accounts. UVic also offered 12 months of credit monitoring service with TransUnion and Equifax credit bureaus for those who enrolled before April 15, 2012.
