Professional Information

Richard T. Marcy is an Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior at the School of Public Administration, University of Victoria. He has expertise in strategic leadership, leadership development, social innovation, and organizational adaptation. He has authored or coauthored a number of publications on these topics. As an extension of this work, Richard has also developed new tools that leaders can use to be more effective, creative, and adaptive in the workplace, and he has created and trained instructional programs that deliver these tools to leaders.

His current research and training program development focuses on the role of strategic leadership and management in complex environments. Before coming to the University of Victoria, Richard was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL). He has also held positions with Capgemini Consulting and the United States Marine Corps. He holds a BA in Media Study from SUNY Buffalo, and an MS and PhD in Organizational Psychology from the University of Oklahoma.
