Patricia Coward

Adjunct Associate Professor

PhD Nursing Systems (Case Western Reserve), M.N. (Alberta), BScN (Toronto)

Pat joined the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research in 2004 as the Executive Director of the Health Services and Policy Research Support Network. Her role is to support researchers, health system managers and government policy makers in working together to produce high quality, relevant health services and policy research. Prior to joining the Foundation, she held senior patient care management roles at what is now the Vancouver Island Health Authority. Pat has also worked in the education system as a faculty member at the Universities of Alberta and Victoria and as Dean of Health Sciences at George Brown College in Toronto. She has held an adjunct appointment in the School of Health Information Science at UVic since 2003.
