University flag to be lowered in honour of former faculty member

The university flag will be lowered on Thursday, Mar. 21, 2013 in honour of Dr. Samuel L. Macey, who passed away on Mar. 11. Dr. Macey was a UVic professor of English for 19 years and served as dean of graduate studies from 1983 to 1986. He was also the long-time editor of the Finnerty Gardens newsletter and a great friend of UVic.
 
A memorial will be held on Thursday, Mar. 21 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the University Club.
