It’s easy to enjoy the West Coast experience when you live in a place like Victoria. A fan of being outdoors, Ricky Watts enjoys hiking, camping and sports in his free time.

As a biology student, ecological diversity is an important part of Ricky’s life. He says, “On the West Coast you don't just learn about ecological diversity; you experience it here at UVic!”

Ricky has found many places to study outdoors. He explains, “I love to study in areas with natural light and trees. There’s an abundance of these study locations that feel private but are central to campus.”

Ricky keeps busy with community involvement and is a member of UVic Student Ambassadors. He’s volunteered at Experience UVic , where his favourite job was leading residence tours for future students and parents. He’ll soon be part of UVic’s ResLife team, supporting nearly 2,300 students in residence.
