Jeffrey Mallett Leadership Award

Awarded to a student in the BCom program who can demonstrate involvement in community or campus organizations. Preference will be given to a student on a Vikes varsity team.

Application: Submit resumé and cover letter highlighting your involvement in community or campus organizations to the Gustavson School of Business by November 15.

Rebecca MacDonald Work Hard Play Hard

Awarded to students completing year 3 of the Bachelor of Commerce program who have overcome adversity while maintaining an excellent GPA.  Recipients will receive a 1 week (7 days), all expense paid trip to the home of Rebecca MacDonald in the Dominican Republic (airfare, food and accommodations included).  Travel to take place during the first week of July each year.  Students receiving this award must be available for travel the first week of July 2012.

Application: Cumulative grade point average in 3rd year BCom core courses. Submission of a 1000 word essay detailing the applicant’s background and how they have overcome adversity and hardship. Application Deadline: 25 April 2012

Bachelor of Commerce International Scholarship Award

Awarded to the top three Bachelor of Commerce international students who have completed their third year. The selection is based on GPA.

Awarded to students entering Year 4 of the Bachelor of Commerce Program. Preference is given to students who show a strong potential for a career in a financial institution.

Black Press Business Scholarships

Annual scholarships are available to BC High School graduates.  Awarded to high school, transferring students and continuing students entering the University of Victoria Gustavson School of Business.  One scholarship will be awarded to a student applicant from each of the school district regions set out in Table One.  Priority of the award is given to high school applicants.

Canadian National Scholarship

One or more scholarships are awarded to students enrolled in either the International Business program or the Entrepreneurship and Small Business program. Preference is given to students from the Kitimat-Stikine, Stikine, Bulkely-Nechako areas, the Cariboo, the Okanagan-Similkameen, Central Okanagan and North Okanagan regions. Selection is made by the Senate Committee on Awards upon the recommendation of the Faculty of Business.

CGA Academic Excellence Scholarship

Awarded to a student who has completed Year 3 and is entering Year 4 of the Bachelor of Commerce Program at the University of Victoria Gustavson School of Business.

CGA Continuing Education Award

Awarded to an outstanding BCom degree graduate who intends to become a Certified General Accountant. The award will be credited toward the CGA Program tuition fees for the academic year following receipt of the award. The recipient selection is based on graduating average.

Murry and Lynda Farmer Scholarship

One or more scholarships are awarded to academically outstanding 3rd or 4th year students in the Bachelor of Commerce program who demonstrate dedication to community organizations and have a strong interest in business ethics and social responsibility. Students must have completed or be enrolled in one or more courses related to the study of ethics or social responsibility.

Awarded to the top 30 entering students. Selection is based on incoming GPA.

Lee Hayes Scholarship

Awarded to a student enrolled in the BCom program. Applicants must submit a 1000 word letter detailing their commitment to their educational and career goals. An application form that can be used as a cover sheet is available to print from the Student Awards & Financial Aid website.

NOTE:  The donors have requested that the student receiving this award is not to have grades of A- or above.  Students are also to visibly demonstrate that they are doing everything possible through rigorous studying to reach his or her goals and must have good work habits and organizational skills.

Rose Won Lau Business Scholarship

Awarded to a Bachelor of Commerce student planning to participate in an academic program and/or co-op work placement in China. Selection of the student is based on the submission of a resume and an essay demonstrating the student's involvement in sports, extra-curricular activities or community contributions and stating how the scholarship will be of assistance in completing the co-op or exchange, and on academic merit. Preference will be given to a female student of Chinese ancestry.

Madam Soong Ching Ling Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to students from China who are attending the University of Victoria on a Student Visa. Preference will be given to Gustavson School of Business students.

Malcolm Manson

An award is given to an undergraduate student in the Peter B. Gustavson School of Business who is attending a university in China on exchange and/or completing an internship in China. Students must submit a cover letter with a 500 word essay expressing their passion and interest in China and outlining how they anticipate the China experience will benefit them. Applications must be submitted to the Peter B. Gustavson School of Business, Business Student Services Office by April 30th

Thomas (Bill) Orr Scholarships in Business

Awarded to Gustavson School of Business students. Eligible students must be involved in university life, such as athletics and/or clubs or campus organizations.
