Connor Bildfell – Jamie Cassels Undergraduate Research Award recipient

Connor received the Jamie Cassels Undergraduate Research Award for his research proposal studying language strategies of firms in China. While in Asia on exchange, Connor conducted his research by interviewing and surveying stakeholders. He conducted his research in Mandarin. Connor’s hope for his findings is “to provide managers with a foundational framework for developing well-structured language strategies concerning English and Mandarin.” Results from his research will assist managers in navigating the global marketplace more effectively by offering insights on how to establish successful language policies within their firm.
The Jamie Cassels Undergraduate Research Awards (JCURA) was established in 2009 by the Vice-President Academic and Provost. It is designed to provide support for exceptional undergraduate students who might otherwise not be able to obtain a direct research experience as a part of their studies.
Connor’s research was recently published in the Journal for Global Business and Community.
