Background
 

Sorin Rizeanu is an Assistant Professor in International Finance at the University of Victoria. His research interests primarily focus on corporate governance and international finance, including the structure of the firm’s ownership, the quality of the external audit, country institutional strength and their impact on firm valuation and debt maturities. Additionally, he actively pursues other research projects focusing on cross-listings, risk taking behavior, country cultural norms and analyst following.

His research was well received at various conferences, including the 2008 and 2009 Financial Management Association Meeting, the 2009 and 2010 American Accounting Association Meeting, the 2009 European Financial Management Meeting, the 2009 Academy of International Business, the 2009 Eastern Finance Association Meeting, the 2009 International Finance Conference, the 2010 Southwest Finance Association Meeting and the 2010 International Symposium on Audit Research.
