Goldie Luong, MBA '05
Goldie Luong, BSC and MBA '05, has transitioned from the Vancouver Island Health Authority as the Project Director of Community Care Initiatives to the Director for Special Projects in Vancouver Acute Services at Vancouver Coastal Health. Since her MBA, her continuous learning includes completing a Green Belt Lean Certification and is currently working towards Black Belt Lean Certification. Using Lean methodology, she accomplished an effective increase in access and flow of acute care patients resulting in a 74% savings of hospital days.
Goldie is also the Chair for the Canadian College of Health Leaders, Vancouver Island Chapter and a Board of Advisers member for the Gustavson School of Business at UVIC.
Doug Slater, MBA '05
Doug Slater, MBA '05, is an Operations Service Manager within the Business Performance Department at FortisBC (Gas Division). He also recently completed his CMA designation. He now lives and works in Kelowna.
Yvonne deBoer, MBA 04
Yvonne deBoer, MBA 04, is now North American Regional Director - Business Development and Marketing for Ausenco, a global provider of engineering and engineering, procurement, construction management, and operations services to the resources and energy sectors. She is based in Vancouver.
Norma Glendinning, MBA '94
Norma Glendinning, MBA '94, recently joined Berlin Eaton, a management consulting firm that provides services to visionary leaders across the country in both public and private sectors - helping clients build stronger futures for their organizations. Norma is a lead consultant, partnering with Richard Eaton, Continuous Improvement Practice Leader. Prior to returning to consulting, Norma was Assistant Auditor General at the Auditor General’s Office where she led a major project to streamline audit processes as a client of Berlin Eaton’s. Little did she know at the time that she would eventually join their team!
Christian Van Buskirk, MBA (ENT) '10
Christian Van Buskirk, MBA (ENT) '10 currently owns/operates two businesses. Service Essentials Consulting is a Customer Service Training business where Christian develops curriculum and facilitates workshops to local businesses striving to boost revenue and reduce costs through service professionalism. Tourism Roatan is a destination management company incorporated in Roatan, Honduras. The company markets, promotes and builds the tourism industry for the Western Caribbean Island that is known as a scuba diving mecca and has recently become a popular stopover for the cruise lines.
Lisa Fedorak, MBA '02
Lisa Fedorak, MBA '02, is Group Director, Development and Planning, for the Jumeirah Group in Dubai, UAE. Lisa will be responsible for assisting the luxury hotel company target new hotel management contracts as part of the company's global expansion strategy.
