Distinguished Alumni Award 2017 – Lenora Lee, BCom ‘02
Gustavson’s Distinguished Alumni Award is our top honour for alumni. This year, we are pleased to name Lenora Lee, BCom ’02, as our 2017 Distinguished Alumna. Lenora is a Partner with KPMG’s assurance practice in Victoria. Being named partner – the first female to be promoted to partner in Victoria’s office in 2011 – is just the latest in a string of achievements for this talented, young professional.
After graduation, Lenora obtained her Chartered Accountant designation. In 2009, she received the Institute of Chartered Accountant’s Early Achievement Award for her accomplishments in career, profession and community. In her role at KPMG, Lenora is a trusted business advisor to her clients including public companies, private enterprises, government and not-for-profit organizations.
In addition to building her successful career, Lenora is an active member of the Victoria Chinese Commerce Association. Her previous volunteer commitments include the Victoria Foundation’s Community Fund and Arts and Heritage committee where she reviewed financial-related matters and helped determine grant recipients from Fund applications. Lenora was also one of the inaugural founders of the School of Business Alumni Chapter in Victoria and served as chapter secretary-treasurer for most of her volunteer years with the chapter.
Lenora’s strong ties to the School of Business remain today. She is often on campus recruiting for new CPA articling students, volunteering as a mentor to BCom and MBA students and teaching as a sessional instructor.
Congratulations to Lenora on this well-deserved honour. Her commitment to her profession, her clients, the business community and the university is second to none and we’re proud to recognize her efforts in business and volunteerism.
The Distinguished Alumni Award is presented by the University of Victoria Alumni Association annually during Alumni Week.
