Nursing professional issues; gender and wage equity; advanced nursing practice roles including nurse practitioners and nurse anesthetists; women's experiences with depression, treatment, and recovery; mental health issues; grounded theory methodology.

Interdisciplinary Research

The advanced nursing practice project is interdisciplinary and includes policy makers, nurses, and other health care providers.

International Involvement

International Research

During 2013 I will be conducting a study of women's role in food security in Mozambique. I will collaborate on this with a doctoral student, Laura Tomm Bonde

I have been involved with the International Council on Women's Health Issues. I have provided expert consultation and instruction on grounded theory methodology in Sweden, Korea, and the U.S.
