I work with engineers and economists in exploring the environmental benefits and economic effects of integrating electrical grids across jurisdictional boundaries, including the potential to substitute renewable energy for coal-fired electricity generation.

My group is conducting marine geochemical and paleoceanographic research in Vancouver Island fjords, including Saanich Inlet (where we are studying the geochemistry of silver) and Effingham Inlet (north of Barkley Sound) where we are studying the history of NE Pacific climate during the last 10,000 years.
