4. Once you are accepted

Welcome to graduate studies at a world-class institution.

View a full selection of newly accepted student resources including the new student checklist.

  • If you decide to accept your offer of admission, please contact Graduate Admissions and Records at the email address indicated on your admission letter to secure your place. Submit any outstanding documents (as indicated on your admission letter) in order to finalize your offer.

  • Once you have been accepted, you can register for a UVic NetLink account online using your student V-number. Your NetLink ID will give you access to My page where you will be able to access your student record, change your personal information and register for classes. When registering for your NetLink ID, you will also be given an option to create your UVic email account at the same time.

  • Your admission letter will include information on how to access the online registration system. Your registration date and time will only be available through My page , so you must set up a NetLink ID. You will only be eligible to register once you have received a full offer of admission. If you are provisionally accepted, you must satisfy your provisions before registering for classes.

  • Before registering for classes, contact the graduate adviser for your program area. For specific information concerning your program and course selection you should talk with your supervisor and consult the graduate calendar.

  • Registration for the summer session begins near the end of March and near the end of June for the winter session (both September and January starts).

  • If you want to live on campus but haven't already applied for on-campus housing, be sure to apply right away.

New student orientation

Changing universities can be a big change in your life. Whether you're coming directly from another university or returning to academic life after time in the work force, it can be difficult to process everything. We want to make sure that you have support to achieve your goals. The Student Transition Centre provides a number of services to assist students as questions arise regarding life at UVic.
