Program Change Requests

Students who have completed at least one term (two terms for first-year students) of full-time studies in the B.Eng. or BSEng programs at UVic who wish to alter the prescribed program must file a Modified Program Application form with their respective advisor:

When a student plans to make any change in their program schedule, they must complete a modified program form. Changes in academic and work term sequencing, leave of absence requests, 8-month work terms, and repeating courses are all examples of circumstances that require students to submit modified program forms.

It is important for these forms to be submitted as soon as a student becomes aware of the plans to change his/her program, especially in the instance when there is a change in academic/work term sequencing (see Standard Schedule below). A student will not be made eligible to participate in the placement process until the form is approved .

The modified program forms are reviewed by program advisors and submitted once a month to the BEng/BSEng Student Programs Committee. Although every effort will be made to detect problems during this review process, students are solely responsible for difficulties resulting from prerequisite and timetable conflicts.
