Digital studios
The Faculty of Education offers a number of digital studios with workstations and equipment supporting a broad range of popular and specialized production software to assist Education students and instructors with all their assignment and instructional needs. Most studios are bookable and available for drop-in use when not booked. Faculty of Education students and students taking Education courses also have access outside of regular hours with an Education swipe card.

MacD211
MacLaurin D211 is a 31-station digital studio located on the second floor of the MacLaurin in the causeway between the A and D wings. It is available for course instruction and student drop-in. 24" iMacs offer a dual boot to Windows XP and Mac OS X (10.6) systems with a broad range of popular and specialized production software to assist Education students and instructors with all their assignment and instructional needs. In addition to printing and scanning services, this studio houses a wide screen interactive whiteboard (SMARTboard). See our Studio resources page for more details.

MacD282
MacLaurin D282 is a 31-station digital studio located on the second floor of the MacLaurin in the D wing. It is available for course instruction and student drop-in. 21.5" iMacs offer a dual-boot to Windows 7 and Mac OS X (10.6) systems with a broad range of popular and specialized production software to assist Education students and instructors with all their assignment and instructional needs. The room has both to printing and scanning services. See our Studio resources page for more details.

MacA222
MacLaurin A222 is a 11-station digital studio located on the second floor of the MacLaurin A-wing for drop-in, small group and long-term project work. Workstations offer a dual-boot to Windows XP, Windows 7, and Mac OS X (10.6) systems with a broad range of popular and specialized production software to assist Education students and instructors with all their assignment and instructional needs. The room is not bookable but used on a first come, first serve basis; it is accessible by swipe card at all times of the day. There is a special audio recording station in this room that can be used to digitize tape and live audio. See our Studio resources page for more details.
This drop-in/project room is accessible only with an after hours access Education swipe card even during regular office hours.
Mck070
Mckinnon 070 is a 15-station digital studio located on the ground floor (by the squash court) of the Mckinnon building. It is available for course instruction and student drop-in. 20" iMacs offer a dual-boot to Windows XP and Mac OS X systems with a broad range of popular and specialized production software to assist Education students and instructors with all their assignment and instructional needs. Along with the full studio suite of software, this studio offers the digital video analysis software Dartfish (Windows only) for cutting edge performance analysis.
This studio is available for drop-in use for limited times during the week. See the posted schedule at Mck070 for drop-in time.
Mobile Labs
The Faculty of Education supports 4 mobile lab carts (2 Windows and 2 Mac carts) each with 16 laptops. The carts come fully loaded with our digital studio software and there are a wide variety of available peripherals for loan including scanners (near- and zero-edge), headsets, digital cameras, digital video cameras, extra wireless nodes, and a printer.
