Admissions

Admissions

Indigenous Education welcomes students with Indigenous ancestry to apply to the Faculty of Education in any of our programs. We are here to support you in your application and during your course of study.

Distinct access initiatives

The Faculty of Education is committed to increasing the number of teachers, kinesiologists and recreation & health education professionals with Indigenous ancestry. In recognition of the BC Ministries of Education and Advanced Education's mandate to increase access for First Nations, Métis and Inuit students, the Faculty of Education has developed distinct access initiatives.

Reserved seats

5 per cent of the positions in the faculty's elementary and secondary teacher education programs will be held for First Nations, Métis and Inuit applicants who meet the faculty's requirements as well as the First Nations, Métis and Inuit application requirements.

Exceptional admission

Exceptional students who do not meet the admission requirements may be eligible for admission through a case-by-case review process.

Application forms

When you're ready to apply to the Faculty of Education, be sure to complete the application for students of First Nations, Métis or Inuit ancestry, as well as the appropriate application for your program of choice. Apply today!

If you are unable to access the applications online, contact Nick Claxton, Indigenous Academic adviser, at 250-721-8389 or Education advising at 250-721-7877 for assistance.
