Congratulations to Dr. Deborah Begoray who has been awarded the inaugural Faculty of Education Award for Excellence in Research!  Dr. Begoray is an internationally renowned literacy researcher who demonstrates the important synergy between teaching and research. Her research has led to curriculum development and teaching strategies that are taken up in classrooms in public schools, community health clinics, a First Nations Community school and medical education classrooms. She consistently integrates her research findings and strategies into undergraduate and graduate courses she teaches. Much of the over $1 million in external funding secured by Begoray has been directed at research that focuses primarily on teaching issues and interventions.

Congratulations to C&I Sessional Instructor Regan Rasmussen who was awarded the Canadian Society for Education Through Art (CSEA) BC Provincial Affiliate Award in October 2012.
