Fees, funding and salaries

Engineering co-op
tuition fee

As a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or Bachelor of Software Engineering (BSEng) student, you must complete four co-op work terms. You'll pay your co-op program fee on an installment plan, with one installment per term.

  • Engineering co-op fee installment plan for Canadian students (undergraduate): Eight installments of $318.36
  • Engineering co-op fee installment plan for international students (undergraduate): Eight installments of $530.61

You will start paying your co-op tuition fee at the beginning of first year.

If you're a bridge student admitted directly into third year, you'll start paying the fee when you begin your third year courses.

If you challenge a work term, you'll pay one fewer installment per challenge.  You can find more info on transfers and challenges under "Work Term Credits/Reductions" in the 2012-2013 Undergraduate Calendar.

If you choose to complete more than four work terms, refer to “Undergraduate Co-op Work Term” here to see what the cost will be.

co-op tuition fee

All co-op students pay a tuition fee for the co-op program. This fee supports the operational costs of the co-op program and helps maintain our online job posting system.

It's free to join the co-op program and attend preparation sessions—you'll only pay your fee once you've secured a co-op job. Your fee is due at the end of the first month of each co-op work term.

* Difference between the graduate co-op fee and the grad installment fee
The graduate co-op program tuition fee is different than the grad installment fee. If you're a grad student and you register for a co-op work term, you'll pay the (1) graduate co-op program tuition fee and (2) the graduate ancillary fees during that term.

If you register for a course (e.g. Thesis 596 or 598) and a co-op work term in the same term, you'll pay (1) the graduate co-op program tuition fee, (2) the graduate ancillary fees and (3) the graduate installment fee.
