This summer, Jordyn Hrenyk (right) is giving back to a company that has helped fund her education through several scholarships. The University of Victoria business student is on a work term at the Bank of Montreal (BMO) James Bay branch.

Working under the supervision of Branch Manager Mary-Ellen Echle (left), Jordyn is taking part in a workplace mentorship program that provides accelerated learning programs for student employees. After working as a customer service representative for the first half of the summer, Jordyn is now learning the role of financial services manager.

“This job has allowed me to connect to people on a very personal level,” she says. Jordyn is one of many UVic co-op students working with local employers on projects that benefit Greater Victoria and beyond.
