-
Develop a job description
Submit your job description, or give us a call at 250-721-7628 if you’d like help writing it. You set the salary based on fair market wages. We’ll post the job on our online co-op job board and send you résumés of the students who apply.
-
Interview the best candidates
Once you’ve chosen the applicants you’d like to interview, we’ll arrange an interview schedule that is convenient for you. You can interview student candidates at your office, on the phone, on the UVic campus or by videoconference. -
Make a job offer
If you find a suitable candidate, we’ll make the offer of employment. Students have 24 hours to accept or decline the offer. Once the placement is confirmed, we’ll ask you to send the student a letter to formalize the employment details.
When to hire
Co-op students are available year-round. Work terms generally begin in January, May and September but you can post job descriptions any time. Co-op work terms are typically four months long, but students sometimes work for one employer for multiple work terms.
