University of Victoria students tell us their hopes for Canada's next 50 years and what their role in that vision will be.

The Edge of what's next

The 150th anniversary of Canada's confederation offers important opportunities to reflect on the ways in which our heritage shapes our future as a nation and as a society.

In keeping with UVic's commitment to tackling essential issues that matter to people, places and the planet, the university will hold a series of events throughout 2017 under the theme The Edge of what's next.

These events to mark Canada's sesquicentennial will include a series of signature events, various arts and cultural events, and faculty and department events that explore the key opportunities and challenges facing Canadians over the next 50 years leading up to the country's 2067 bicentennial.
