Great Moments in UVic History Committee

"The Great Moments in UVic History Committee" evaluated all of the nominations for UVic’s “Great Moments.” The committee approved every nomination that fit the below definition of a “Great Moment”:

"A moment can be:
• an individual or team achievement (academic, research, athletic, community);
• a physical campus development (i.e. first LEED building; Centennial Stadium, First Peoples House);
• a UVic event;
that exhibits a commitment to excellence, is emblematic of ‘making a difference,’ and that has contributed to establishing UVic’s leadership as a university."

All nominations that passed the criteria are now featured in the Great Moments database. In addition to reviewing the nominations, the committee's mandate was to recommend Great Moments to executive council to feature in UVic's online and printed publications. These moments can be viewed online and in the 2013 Annual Review
