Celebrate UVic’s 50th Anniversary at Homecoming
Established in 1963, with roots in Victoria College and the Provincial Normal School, the University of Victoria has grown to become a leading research-intensive institution with alumni making a difference around the world.
Throughout the 2012-13 academic year, we’ll be commemorating UVic’s 50 years of excellence. It all gets started in September and we want you to be here.
Be on campus September 28 – 29 for the kick-off of UVic’s 50th anniversary year.
Homecoming is part of UVic’s Anniversary Festival and includes special events and activities for alumni and their families.
Catch up with classmates, attend an Alumni Talk, and discover your university all over again. It will be a weekend to remember.
Homecoming and Festival Welcome Tent
Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Homecoming and Festival Welcome Tent (outside on the campus, in the Quad, near the Cornett Building) will be your Homecoming and Festival information hub.
Meet university staff and volunteers and sign up for one of the many themed campus tours, or get a copy of the 50th Anniversary Festival Guide. Enter our draws and pick up some swag (while quantities last).
Be keen and think green! Bring your favourite travel mug or water bottle from home. We will fill it up with free coffee, tea, water or hot apple cider while you enjoy some light snacks and learn more about alumni benefits and services.
We need your help! Join the action by becoming an alumni volunteer. Volunteers are needed as alumni greeters, hosts, and helpers. Contact Linda Nicoll, Alumni Relations, at firstname.lastname@example.org confirming your availability and contact information. She’ll follow up with a volunteer schedule to suit you.
